Club licences apply to registered clubs. The following classes are issued: 1) Authorisation - Club functions authorisation: Authorisation to sell liquor at a function held on other premises - Extended trading authorisation: Authorisation to extend trading hours for consumption on premises or away from the premises - Junior members authorisation: Authorisation to enable juniors to use any part. New applications. A liquor sales licence may be issued to allow the sale and service of alcohol to the public for on-site consumption. Only owners of a business can apply for a liquor sales licence. The business does not have to be primarily involved with the sale and service of food or liquor, but must be located in a pre.

You will require this licence if you intend to establish and operate a casino in New South Wales. Only one casino licence may be in force at any time in NSW. When a casino licence is available, the Authority will publicly invite expression of interest for applications. Your licence will be subject to conditions as outlined in the legislation. The licence will allow Crown to serve alcohol at the Crown Sydney resort, which includes a number of bar areas. ILGA chair Philip Crawford also announced that the authority is considering a further two liquor licences for other non-gaming areas of the casino.

You can apply for these licenses in person at our office or mail your complete application with fees to our mailing address. You may also apply for a business license on-line with the One Regional Licensing and Permits Portal. The portal is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You are encouraged to contact our offices prior to applying for a liquor and/or gaming license. At that time, we will provide you with instructions for obtaining approvals and initiating a background investigation. An application for a liquor and/or gaming license in unincorporated Washoe County is also an application for a business license and applicable business license fees will be charged (see the General and Home-based Business Licenses web page).

Washoe County liquor licenses are renewed quarterly. Fees paid are not refundable. Liquor license fees are billed at the minimum fee for the first year, and after that are based on the gross receipts you report to the Business License office once each year (see Liquor License Types and Examples, below).

Gaming Licenses

Washoe County gaming licenses are renewed quarterly. Gaming license fees are based on the number and type of games. Fees paid are not refundable.

Washoe County collects gaming fees for gaming establishments and route operators located at businesses inside the city limits of Reno and Sparks as well as those in unincorporated Washoe County. These gaming fees are divided among the jurisdictions based on the location of the games, with 75% going to the city of origination and 25% to the County's general fund. In addition, a tax (referred to as the Chapter 491 Tax) is collected on behalf of the State of Nevada and distributed to the Cities as well as several other public agencies (see Chapter 491 Tax).

Casino Liquor Licence Application

Casino

A liquor sales licence may be issued to allow the sale and service of alcohol to the public for on-site consumption.

Only owners of a business can apply for a liquor sales licence. The business does not have to be primarily involved with the sale and service of food or liquor, but must be located in a premises open to the public or private members (such as a social club). Liquor licences will not be issued to private residences (unless for instance, it is for a bed and breakfast) or businesses not registered with the government.

Liquor licences may also be combined with an endorsement. Endorsements allow licence holders to sell and serve alcohol under specific circumstances (see the Endorsements page for more information).

Application Process

Where an application for a liquor sales licence has been filed with the AGCO and there has been no liquor sales licence at that address for at least six (6) months, the AGCO posts a public notification to allow local residents the opportunity to comment on the proposed licence. Your application will be reviewed based on risk-based principles. This means that you (the applicant), your business and your business location will be evaluated based on a set criteria. If there are potential risks to the public safety or the public interest identified as part of your application for a liquor sales licence, then there may be a further investigation conducted by the AGCO. You may be required to disclose additional personal and financial information, and/or your application may be approved subject to conditions which are designed to mitigate against the identified risks.
